Ross Henderson Photography
About Ross Henderson
I am a multi-award winning professional photographer based in Aberdeenshire. I was recently awarded Portrait Photographer of the Year 23/24 from Scotland Prestige Awards. See my recent awards here.
I have 5 star reviews on Facebook, Yell and Google. See my latest reviews here.
I have been keen on photography from the age of 10, when I received a 110 camera for a School Trip to the Channel Islands. I received a SLR when I was 14 as a birthday present.
I was made redundant from a career in Oil and Gas, spanning 25 years in 2015. This made me wonder what I would really enjoy doing and, after a while, settled on photography. I started the business in early 2016. It was initially very difficult and a steep learning curve. I am still learning and will continue to learn by pushing my skills.
I am a recent Graduate from Gray's School of Art at RGU, where I completed a BA in Commercial Photography and an MA in Communication and Design, both of which pushed my skills as a photographer.
My main Professional Activities are Portraiture and Pet Photography, both of which I really enjoy. Working with pets is physically demanding, but very rewarding. The majority of my portrait commissions are based in the studio in Aberdeenshire. I am currently working in The Kemnay Village Hall. Prior to this, I was based at Mill Farm, just outside Kemnay.
I am a member of The Societies of Weddings and Portraiture Photographers (SWPP) and also The Societies of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers (SINWP), where I am currently working towards qualifications through their Mentor Me program.
