I took this photograph while out trying to get some pictures of Tufted Ducks. I crawled around in the undergrowth for two hours trying to get some decent images, but the Tufted Ducks were too far away. So I decided to concentrate on a group of swans.

It was taken at the old quarries near Kemnay. The closer swan is a 1-2 year old cygnet. I like the way the adult is looking at the cygnet as if it is keeping an eye on it. Either that or it could be thinking "I proud of you".
It just goes to show that when you are out taking photos, sometimes other things happen which are worth taking. So you have to be prepared for anything.
